On the occasion of the Second European Mobility Week to be held from 16 to 22 September, the University of Murcia has developed a series of activities where the company invites all to visit the University of Murcia Murcia and participate in events hosted.
On Wednesday 16, has held the presentation of activities in the vicinity of the building of the Technical Unit.
There will proceed to the inauguration of the new supplier of LPG (Liquefied Petroleum Gas) in hybrid cars to refuel at the University and show the new GPS system installed on the cars.
Supplier is expected to then be open to the entire university community and in this way encourage the efficient use of the environmentally friendly vehicles.
It also showcased two new models of electric cars made by the Technical Unit for transport within the university and realize their main features and benefits they offer.
The objective of the UMU with Mobility Week 2009 is to sensitize the university community and the general public of the need to change the habits of daily mobility.
Thus, we see the environmental benefits of cities with fewer private vehicles, encourage saving and energy efficiency while promoting dialogue between all stakeholders to develop new plans and transportation systems.
All with a purpose, achieving a reduction in traffic at the university, better and more sustainable urban mobility and increased energy conservation and efficiency, leading to a significant improvement in the quality of life and a reduction in greenhouse gas emissions.

Wednesday, September 16.
11:00 am Presentation of new purchase two electric vehicles.
Presentation of GPS installation on vehicles of the Technical Unit.
Opening of the new pump station LPG (liquefied petroleum gas for vehicles UMU) in the premises of the Technical Unit of Campus de Espinardo.
12:30 pm Contest "Cars" Crazy "whose only propelled by gravity in the descent of the Social Center Campus Universitario de Espinardo.
19:00 pm Gymkhana.
Departing from the Place Cardinal Belluga.
Thursday, September 17.
10:00 am Measurement of CO2 emissions.
Users can measure emissions from private cars in the parking lot of the Social Centre Campus Universitario de Espinardo.
Friday, September 18
20:00 pm Screening of "The Bicycle", the first feature film cycle on mobility in the Moneo building.
Saturday and Sunday, day 19 and September 20
12:00 pm Projection of the second and third feature film cycle on mobility: "The flying Scootsman" and "Beijing Bicycle, in the auditorium of the Merced campus of the University of Murcia.
Monday, September 21.
11:00 am cycling competitions are held at the Plaza of Sustainability, participants will need a bike (available in the UMU) and a sense of humor.
It will be slow as running tests which would later win comes, get your ring, disguised as a knight of the Middle Ages.
Come with your custom bike and get prizes just for participating.
