Respite care, volunteer training, cultural program of leisure and promotion of independent living are some of the programs developed by the Asociación Nuevo Horizonte and Murcia City Council supports the signing of a cooperation agreement.
New Horizons Partnership was created in 1999 by a group of parents with children affected by intellectual disabilities to increase personal autonomy and the integration of these guys.
The program for 2009 is aimed at 40 people with intellectual disabilities and their families, by the aid can enhance their autonomy and their capabilities.
The City Council today approved by the Governing Board signing this partnership agreement, which grants 11,300 euros for the development of their activities.
The objectives of this association are to promote personal development and an independent lifestyle and healthy, and avoid isolation by leisure time, provide equal opportunities and improving the quality of life of these people, contributing to respite care and care for people with mental disabilities with less resources.
