Ecologists in Action Murcia Region, through a press statement, expressed their total rejection of bullfighting that these days are held in Murcia, and also in other parts of the national territory.

A show described as "cruel and bloody, fun looking through the torture and cruelty to the bull, demonstrating absolute contempt for the rights of animals."

The environmental organization says that, in addition, bullfighting is a show that "conveys and exalts the most negative values of a society, as the unjustified use of violence, contempt for the rights of animals, or enjoyment with torture and animal abuse. "

And especially condemns the children's shows are held or to allow the attendance of children to such shows.

Ecologists in Action for bullfights and bullfighting festivals in general are, inexplicably, still prevalent in some regions, as is the case of Murcia, and although the number of fans has declined in recent years, political and economic elapoyo the local and regional government is keeping this activity.

A recent poll conducted by Gallup shows that only 7.4% of the Spanish claim to be very interested in this bloody spectacle.

By contrast, 72.1% of the population in Spain states have no interest in bullfighting.

Disinterest in even greater among women (78.5%) and younger (81.7% of people between 15 and 24).

The environmental organization understands that from the city of Murcia should be left to fund any show that contributes to the maintenance of animal torture.

And in this regard recalls the commitment of local authorities to respect the rights of animals (including the bull) is gaining ground in Spain, and now many towns and cities begin to eliminate any financial assistance to bullfights.

Those who join those openly declared anti-bullfighting towns in some cases, or abolitionists fighting in others.

And at the regional level highlights the Canary Islands, where since 1991 prohibited all forms of animal abuse, including bullfights.

Finally, Ecologists in Action, concludes that a show cruel, bloody and violent can not be considered "national party" in any civilized country considered, much less funded with public money.

We all pay taxes, they say, "can not continue to feed a party based on cruelty and torture towards animals."
