The University of Murcia eligible for payments of the "Campus of Excellence" to be convened by the Ministries of Education and Science and Innovation to improve the competitiveness of Spanish universities and ranks among the best in Europe.
The aim of these grants is to fund these innovative initiatives add value to the Spanish university and serve to bring the campus to society, for providing for major investments in infrastructure
The University of Murcia, as announced today their academic at a ceremony held at the headquarters of the Chancellor, leading a project called the CORIOLIS, with the involvement of different institutions and agencies in the region.
CORIOLIS rests on three pillars: boosting the quality of teaching and adapting it to the European, research excellence and knowledge transfer, while transforming college campuses to become places of enjoyment of citizenship.
The rector of the University, José Antonio Cobacho, accompanied by the Vice Chancellor for Research, Juan María Vázquez, warned of the difficulty of getting one of the ten projects at stake, "vying for the top universities in the country", but said the Murcia institution "is able to compete."
For the rector, the granting of the "Campus of Excellence" would be a great boost to an area of economic and social dynamism of Murcia, as the overall financing of the project amounts to 580 million euros.
The chancellor concluded by thanking the social and institutional support for this proposal by the society of Murcia.
