The Mexican city of Irapuato has installed a stand on the Malecon during the Fair to be released between Murcia.
This city, capital of the state of Guanajuato, is twinned with Murcia since 2005.
The Fair was attended by the Director General for Economic Development of Irapuato, Luis G.
Hernandez, and commercial responsibility Eliana Hernandez, who had met this morning with the Councillor of Tourism, Maria Isabel Valcarcel, and Alderman of Festivals and Popular Culture, Rafael Gomez.
Also present will be the mayor of the town, Mario Turrell, who will join the Mexican delegation in a few days.
In the stand located on the Malecon provide tourist information on Irapuato, information on commercial opportunities in the area and industrial parks.
Irapuato has close trade relations with Murcia, in fact there are companies in the region established in the Mexican city and others interested in working in the area.
In addition to being present at the Fair of Murcia, Irapuato delegation has been moved to Murcia visit various parts of the Region.
Irapuato has a population of 440,600 inhabitants.
The municipality covers an area of 786 km with a height of 1,700 meters above sea level and lies 317 km away from Mexico.
One of its main economic activities are agro-industry.
Its economy is based on agricultural production and trade as well as in organizing trade fairs.
Irapuato is known as the strawberry capital of the world, for the production of this fruit.
