Health Murcia asked to be responsible and not abandon their pets (18/08/2009)

The Department of Health, which runs Fulgencio Cervantes, Murcia asks not to abandon their pets because at this time, due to the holidays, it increases the number of dogs entering the city center.

In addition, Cervantes emphasizes the danger of abandoning animals on public roads because they can cause traffic accidents.

The Department advises that people who abandon their pets can be punished according to Law 10/1990 of 27 August, with fines ranging between 1502 and 3005, as it is considered a very serious offense.

Fulgencio Cervantes reminds citizens that there is a Municipal Zoonosis Centre which can go free to leave your pet.

The City has an adoption program for citizens animals are taken home for free.

Pets are given vaccinations, deworming, microchip and a voucher for a bath in a hairdressing canine parasite.

Furthermore, if the person adopting is older than 65 years or is retired is given food for two months and a bonus of one year veterinary care.
