The pilot project conducted by the departments of European Programs and Education, 'Europeans 2.0', has made such a success that next year will be extended to a total of 158 schools.
In the last months of April and May launched the pilot in twenty schools in the municipality, which served to define the educational opportunities and encouraged to expand to other centers.
With this pioneering initiative in Spain, more than 8,700 students in grades 5 and Primary 6 of the entire municipality will be able to learn the next year the concept and main features of the European Union in a practical, simple and entertaining, as in the educational offering will include the subject 'Meet Europe. "
This course will run for two sessions of two hours per school unit and will have complementary actions such as public exposure homework, presentation of the educational initiative at the European Prize and awards to schools more participatory.
By working in groups with an especially designed for them, our students will discover the origin of the European Union, its institutions, the single currency, the principal rights and benefits that accrue to countries that are members, as well as tours to know a little more to our neighbors, their culture, language ... and know that being European is not something distant and strange, but rather specific to our own history and future.
The treatment of this information is presented simply and graphically illustrated in the guidelines developed by educators, consisting of a teaching guide for teachers and a teaching guide for school-based activities to develop in class.
Parallel to the work and practices in the classroom, the school will develop original interactive workshops to review the above so entertaining in class and enjoy an entertaining show on the outside of the school to share with colleagues what they learned.
