A total of 200 children (100 in July and 100 in August) enjoy the Summer School organized by the Department of Social Welfare, Gender Equality Policies and Citizenship, directed by Maria del Carmen Pelegrin the Comprehensive Center for Children and Reconciliation Working Life and Family of Juan Carlos I.
In this center perform support activities and tutoring, games and construction toys; legends, tales and trivia, arts and crafts, painting, plastic activities related to astronomy.
They also participate in garden activities, championship games, chess, Parcheesi, checkers and pingpong.
Moreover, in addition to excursions and outings to the pool, cultural outings Regional Library to participate in animation workshop reading with storytelling and puppetry.
The Deputy Mayor has made today a visit to this center as a result of the implementation of the 2009 Summer School, which is being developed since 1 July to 31st August from 8.00 to 17.00 hours hours for children and teenagers from the town between 3 and 16 years of age.
The realization of this Summer School responds to the need of working parents, to have a public resource where they can be cared for their children, according to the principles of the law 39/99 of 5 November to promote reconciliation of work and family life of working people.
Likewise it is intended that children and adolescents to perform a range of leisure and free time, developing and participating in social relations, respect for others and the environment.
The largest group of workers is concentrated in the range between 3 and 8 years and they all come from the county, but mostly, and for this sequence:
- Murcia
- Espinardo
- Churra
- Head of Torres
The mediation center also serves non-teaching periods such as Easter and Spring Festival, last week of June, September and Christmas.
