The director general of tourism infrastructure, Marina Garcia, today visited the construction of the Visitors Center of San Cayetano, in Monteagudo, in which the Ministry of Culture and Tourism through the Tourism Partnership 'Murcia Crossroads', invested 2,863. 784 euros.
Garcia said that "at first, the building was intended to facilitate access to the castle of Monteagudo, but this will at a later stage.
Now the center will host the exhibition of archaeological excavations encountered in each different phase of the operation. "
It also aims to present the story of the first settlers and their cultures Argaric, Romans and Arabs, and cultural activities for this type of centers.
The building is located around the Plaza de la Ermita de San Cayetano, which embraces her in value.
Beside the shrine is located about archaeological remains of Roman road, the recent discovery, linking Cartagena Fortuna, of great archaeological interest to intuit the presence of more remains of Roman and Arabic (XI century).
The Visitor Center creates an area around the square up from the floor to allow views of the Castle and the Vega de Murcia, and to protect and cover the remains of the Roman and Argaric cabins, and to mark the access the building.
The ground floor is open, gives the impression of continued paving of the square was inside the building, and access control houses, shops and a cinema, practicable spaces with walls that allow the plant is open to the Plaza.
