A company will be responsible for maintenance and upkeep of the medians and roundabouts city, for which the Governing Board today approved the specifications that will govern this contract for four years, budgeted for this period at EUR 1,459,419 (total of 364,854 euros per year).
Murcia has 108,360 meters of medium squares and roundabouts, of which 35,731 are conventional (such as Juan Carlos I to the round of the Cubes), 4,763 are type II (with greater care, such as Juan Carlos I ), 23,299 meters of xeriscape (no lawn and native plants) and 44,567 meters of the type IV: artificial lawn with palm trees or shrubs.
The main streets and entrances to the city roads with dual carriageways are separated by landscaped medians, which is necessary for a proper maintenance and servicing, as it is in many cases the first image of the city of Murcia for those who access it .
Given the growth of these roads with medians in new urban areas is not possible to perform the maintenance staff of Parks and Gardens, so it is necessary for this service.
There are four types of medians and roundabouts, classified
Conventional Medium: Juan de Borbon to the round of the Cubes Arrixaca Knot, Primero de Mayo, Abenarabi, Avenida de Los Pinos, Avenida Alfonso Palazón Loaysa Clemares and Admiral.
Medium type II (with special vigilance, mower and pruning of palm trees at night): Juan Carlos I. Median
Medium Type III (Xeriscape: no grass and shrubs and native plants): Median Ronda Sur, partial access to Churra and Avenida Infante Juan Manuel.
Type IV (artificial grass planting palm trees and flowering plants or shrubs): Miguel Indurain, Intersection Montepinar-Cabezo de Torres, Spanish Marina Avenue, Route 340 intersection with C-3223 in El Esparragal, access to the tertiary sector of the widening North North Coast Road, Avenida Guadalupe and the Kingdom of Murcia.
