The Consistory of the capital reached an average score of 85 out of 100 in Transparency International study Spain
Murcia City Council has received an average score of 85 out of 100 according to a report by Transparency International Spain.
The report concludes that as Planning and Information Consistory Murcia citizens ranks as the first in the country, with a ratio of 100%.
Transparency International (TI) is the only nongovernmental organization dedicated to universal scale combat corruption and brings together civil society, private sector and governments in a large global coalition.
But it also refers to the regions, the report is devoted primarily to analyze the degree of transparency of local government, hence be called Transparency Index of the municipalities (ITA) 2009.
The overall average score of the 110 municipalities examined have achieved in the 2009 edition 64.0 points (out of 100) compared to that of 52.1 reached in 2008.
The report examines the work and information from 110 municipalities most populous Spanish based on 80 indicators relating to information on the municipal corporation, the relationship between institutions and citizens and society, and values of economic and financial transparency, procurement services and materials for planning and public works.
According to the report, their data on Transparency in Planning and Public Works, the City of Murcia reaches a score of 100 out of 100 and shared roster with Sevilla, Zaragoza and Bilbao.
The overall average barely 67 points out of 100.
As the chapter on Local Information Corporation, the Town Hall a score of 100 on 100 and shares place with seven other cities, among which are Bilbao, Sevilla, Oviedo and Gijón.
Regarding the indicator Relations with citizens and society, Murcia is in second place with a score of 95 out of 100, shared with Madrid, Barcelona and Santander.
Note that in this section only the municipality of San Cugat del Vallés, however the first place.
Taking into account the communities, Asturias (95), Cantabria (83.8), Murcia (78.8) and Catalonia (78.8) is emerging as more transparent autonomy, while Extremadura (40.6), Castilla and Leon (50.6) and Valencia (52.8), have the worst data.
