The Minister of Social Policy, Women and Migration, Joaquín Bascuñana, today visited the construction of the Residential Center Caser, in the parish of Holy Angel Murcia, which will offer 313 seats, including sheltered apartments, residential places and Day Centre works , which began on Sept. 28 with the laying of the foundation stone, are in their final phase and is scheduled for completion later this year.
During the visit, the Minister was accompanied by Senior General Manager, Paloma Recio, and the Councillor of Social Services City of Murcia, Maruja Pelegrín also Caser Advisor, Valentín García.
The residential complex will have a constructed area of 16,782 meters square and represents an investment of 16 million euros by landlords.
The new building has four floors and basement, two areas linked by a central core, where the common areas.
Area 1 will be located the 65 sheltered apartments, where 140 people can stay, and with a size ranging between 50 and 85 square meters.
Of these, 60 have one bedroom, and five will be two rooms.
All will have a lobby, lounge, kitchen and adequate bathroom.
In area 2 is the 103 rooms located own internal support.
Of these, 46 are double rooms with capacity for 92 people, and 57 individuals.
The Day Centre will have 24 seats.
The building will have 121 parking spaces and 66 storage rooms.
In the central core that links the two structures will be the reception and some services, such as the cafeteria.
The residence will offer health services, social worker, physiotherapist, fitness and psychological cabinet.
The implementation of the complex will create 90 jobs.
This company specializes in assisting seniors, already has a senior center in Lorca, the residential home 'The Mall', with 154 beds, 100 of them agreed.
2,141 residential places
Currently, the Community has 2,141 residential places for seniors, of which 766 are public and 1,375 agreed.
On Day Care Centres, a total of 938 seats, of which, 649 are for Day Care Services (EDS), and 289 for Alzheimer and other dementias (SEDA).
Of the total seats, 375 are owned and funded 563.
