Murcia will host the First National Open Wheelchair Tennis, which will be held on October 2009 at the Polideportivo Municipal Joseph Barnes.

More than 30 athletes from all over Spain, some of which are among the most prominent internationally in this sport, will compete in Murcia to establish national ranking tennis players in wheelchairs.

The National Association of Adapted Sports (ANDA) assume the organization, management and coordination of all activities necessary for the development of this competition.

The City of Murcia, for its part, will provide a grant of 29,000 euros to facilitate the activities.
