The Mayor, Miguel Ángel Cámara, held a meeting this morning with Deputy Defense in the Region, the Captain General of the Army Corps Basabe Vicente Blanco, and appointed to succeed him in office, Juan Manuel Bayo.

The meeting, of a protocol, was signed in his office at City Hall.

Vicente Basabe has served as CEO of Defense for nearly 10 years, particularly since his appointment in December 1999.

Throughout his long career he has been awarded the Commendation, and Plate Cross of the Order of San Hermenegildo, two crossings of Naval Merit and Honorable Mention.

The new delegate, Manuel Bayo Pérez, holds the post of Deputy Defense in the region after taking various destinations in the Navy, including teacher training ship "Juan Sebastian Elcano", 2 submarine commander "Siroco" and corvette "Infanta Cristina", deputy-head of research at the College of Arms in the Navy and Chief of Naval Installations in the Arsenal de Cartagena.
