201 works have been submitted to the X Prize for Painting at the University of Murcia, which, under the sponsorship of the Mansion Inn Bed Silk has a first prize of 8,000 euros and two second prizes of 2,000 euros each.

The participation of this edition, which has increased by more than 50 works in relation to the previous year, recorded authors from France, Portugal, Italy, Sweden, Cuba, Argentina, Paraguay and other parts of the Spanish geography.

The jury is composed by the former director of the National Center of Art "Reina Sofía" Juan Manuel Bonet, former director of the Museum of Contemporary Art of Castilla León Rafael Doctor, painters Antón Patiño and José Manuel Ballester and the director of Art Center Almudí Palacio de Murcia, Martin Paez.

In addition to the awards, the jury will select works which, by its quality, integrate the exposure the area of Arts, University of Murcia, organizer of the Award, held in the month of October.

Before deliberation, the University rector, José Antonio Cobacho, offered jurors a reception in the Convalescent, which also went to Fatima Barnuevo, Councillor of Culture of the Municipality of Murcia, a partner entity of the Prize.
