The rector of the University of Murcia, José Antonio Cobacho, today launched a free-air museum, which, with thirty rocks of the region, the educational institution has mounted in the Garden of Volunteering Espinardo campus.
The project, conducted by professors from the Department of Agricultural Chemistry, Geology and Edaflogía, consists of rock specimens of different lithology and age, among which are limestone, dolomite, sand, marble and schist.
This initiative aims to show the geological history of the region through the rocks, and to show the richness, variety and petrological applications.
