The Cartagena Juan Manuel Díaz Burgos Almudí comes to the Palace with its exhibition 'Son', which includes more than 60 photographs of the places, culture and people of the city of Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic, made between 2005 and 2007.
The images, in color and black and white, have been taken as a social document, capturing the everyday and re-show the interest of Diaz Burgos by Latin American countries, as well as accrediting their work over the past twenty years and that has been described as' more Latin American photographer of Spain. "
'Son' is the debut of Díaz Burgos, considered one of the best Spanish photographers documentary reportage in Almudí Palace, which hosts its first-ever exhibition of his work.
The pictures, far from reflecting the typical tourist attractions, shows a psychological and sociological analysis of the characters by the artist, who has sought to capture the lives of everyday people and places.
Many of them appear even 'stolen', without the sitter knew he was taking the picture.
The photographer has had solo exhibitions in more than 80 times and another seventy collectively, showing their work in countries like France, Argentina, United States, Japan, Cuba, Germany and the Dominican Republic.
