More than 80 people with intellectual disabilities, members of associations and occupational centers in the region, accompanied by thirty volunteers, participated today in the Valley in a tree planting organized by the Ministry of Social Policy, Women and Migration in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture and Water.
The Minister of Social Policy, Joaquín Bascuñana, accompanied by his management team was present at the event, which gathered more than 200 people.
During the event, responsible for Social Policy found a ceramic plate on which were listed the names of all persons who participated in the planting of carob and olive trees.
Bascuñana expressed satisfaction with the great reception given to the reforestation initiative among people with disabilities and those responsible for their centers, and appreciated the work done by volunteers.
More than 80 mentally disabled participants are members of the occupational centers of El Palmar, Espinardo, Ambit López, Luis Valencia, Quarries, Los Olivos, and Aideman, AFAD, Astrapace, Assido, PEEM, Fesormu, Ascope Aspajunide, Aspapros, Asprodes , Nuevo Horizonte, Fundown, Astus and Leiva.
Attendees visited the plantation, also, the facilities of the Visitor Center Valley, Arboretum and Recreational Area Birds.
Reforestation is part of the actions that the Ministry of Social Policy organizes monthly to promote the volunteer movement in the Region of Murcia.
