The president of the Spanish Society of Soil Science (SECS), Jaume Porta Casanellas asked the rector of the University of Murcia, José Antonio Cobacho, support for the promotion of Soil Science at the Spanish university in an official visit he made accompanied by members of its board.
The sight of Casanelles Porta, who was rector of the University of Lleida for ten years, is part of a series of contacts that has been holding with other university presidents to seek the cooperation of these to the Society plans to strengthen these studies.
The president of the SECS today participated in the meeting held at the Faculty of Biology, Pedology, where specialists discussed issues such as the capacity of soil as a sink for greenhouse gases.
The meeting was instigated by the professor at the University of Murcia Roque Ortiz Silla.
