The CEO of Educational Development and Innovation, Carlos Romero, accompanied by the Area Director of Caja Madrid, Fernando Padrón, today presented awards to the institutions named regional finalists 'You can do' at the Museum of the Mills River Murcia.
The competition, which is a project that Caja Madrid has the support of the General Educational Development and Innovation of the Ministry of Education, Training and Employment, has awarded the IES Alfonso X El Sabio de Murcia to first prize , endowed with 50,000 euros, the IES Dos Mares in San Pedro del Pinatar with the second prize of 30,000 euros, and the third prize of 20,000 euros went to the City of the Sun IES Lorca.
With these awards is to promote education and good environmental practices among young students on key issues concerning the environment and saving energy, water and raw materials or reducing waste production, among others, after the development an 'audit scheme' annual school term.
Also, the competition aims to get young people to achieve a real understanding of the environmental and energy that finds its center, involving not only students but also their teachers and families so that they create a cascade effect that achieves increased environmental sensitivity in the school environment.
After the awards ceremony, the CEO of Educational Development and Innovation and the director of the Center for Environmental Education Resources (CREA), Gaspar Victoria, launched the publication 'Guide for eco-citizens "of Luis Alberto Muñoz, winner of the prize that the center organized annually in commemoration of the global environment, and is endowed with 1,800 euros.
