As every year, the Department of Prevention and Fire Fighting, Civil Defence and Development Cooperation, who heads Remigio Lopez, launches a special control device of the mountains through a monitoring service in the municipality's forest areas Murcia and fire detection.
To this end, the City of Murcia and the Regional Government will sign a cooperation agreement for the implementation of the said Forest Service Monitoring.
This collaborative agreement has today received approval from the Governing Board of the Town Council of Murcia.
Infomur Plan 2009, which will come into operation on 1 June and will remain active until 30 September, will feature two pairs of volunteers from the Association of Civil Protection Volunteers of the City of Murcia.
These areas monitored over a period of nine hours, variable depending on the time you start to get dark.
To cover all the natural areas of the municipality, two routes are in place, framed within the so-called Plan:
Garruchal-Columbares port.
This route will take place seven days a week.
La Solana del Valle and Carrascoy, Corvera-La Murta.
The forest guards have radios, binoculars directional GPS, cable connection to lighter vehicles, a map of the municipality of Murcia and vehicles.
The routes and checkpoints have been established based on the following criteria:
Recreational areas cover areas of concentrated a large influx of visitors.
Cover all areas of the shadow of the fixed site monitoring of the Directorate General of Environment.
Have a picture as possible of the areas to be controlled (the highest points, and if not possible, those in which there are no obstacles for surveillance).
Have coverage sufficient to carry out the necessary transfers to the Emergency Coordination Centre in the Region of Murcia.
Crossroads or roads that allow to take different directions, depending on the needs.
Civil Protection, which now has 120 volunteers, made nearly 4,000 hours of work during the three months that will run three months.
