The University of Murcia has won six medals and has broken several records in the University National Championships held in different Spanish towns.
The five athletes who have succeeded in raising the medal of the institution are Margarita Dominguez, in swimming, with two medals, Cristina Sanchez, taekwondo, Manuel Ángel García, athletics, Marta Mendez, karate, and Marta Somoza in judo.
In Spain Swimming Championship organized by the University of Zaragoza and Huesca, held in Margarita Dominguez won two golds in the categories of 800 meters freestyle and 400 freestyle.
In addition, this athlete cartagenera got a national record at the end of the 800 meters in a time of 8:41.65.
For its part, Cristina Sanchez won a silver medal in martial arts flyweight championship held in Vigo (Pontevedra), and Marta Somoza did the same in judo, with a third place in the category of 52 kilos.
Marta Mendez won a bronze medal in karate competition held in Alicante, and Manuel Angel Garcia was third in the Championship of Spain in Athletics, held in Madrid.
