Murcia University will offer 38 degrees adapted to the European Higher Education in the academic year 2009/2010, whose innovations were presented today at a press conference in convalescence, home of the Chancellor.
The rector, José Antonio Cobacho, explained that the University has made a great effort to establish the degree and become one of the top Spanish universities in the number of titles suitable to the Bologna Process.
Most of these degrees, as noted by the rector of Studies, Concepción Palacios, are ancient degrees and diplomas that have been restored, except Pharmaceuticals and Biotechnology, which are degree-ups.
These restructuring, it is noteworthy that occurred in the former Education, who has been cast in the Master of Education degree in Childhood and Elementary Education Teacher.
Another of the developments announced today is the increase in places in the most popular degrees such as Medicine, which, with an increase of 25 places, reach 200, which means that in the last three years has doubled the offer in this race .
The degree of Business Administration, Social Education and Social Work have also experienced increases in the places offered.
For next year, and in line with the new methodology imposed by the European Space, will increase the groups, who spend 82 to 98 which will translate into a reduction in the number of students per group, and thus in an improvement in the quality of teaching.
As for electives and free choice, they offer a total of 1140 and 1770, respectively.
Among the immediate plans of the educational institution in securities, the president pointed to the possibility of introducing the double degrees of ADE + Math + Computer and Information Technology, as well as offering Cartagena Teaching through the University Training ISEN, affiliated center University of Murcia.
In the press conference, also presented the new website Infosecundaria Program at the University of Murcia, which drives the Vice President for University Extension headed by Professor Francisco Guillermo Diaz.
