The Minister of Culture and Tourism, Pedro Alberto Cruz, today inaugurated the exhibition 'Videoclip' which, curated by Marco Pierini, project launches' Video open. "
"The pioneering initiative is international and consists essentially of taking a series of video poster distributed to the streets in different parts of the city of Murcia for citizens to have around while walking, a language that we already are known as video art, "explained Cruz.
'Video Open "aims to disseminate the new languages and artistic media to the public.
The first sample of the 'Trailer' is about the interrelations between the language of music video and video art.
These are works by artists such as Andy Warhol, Damien Hirst, Chris Cunningham, among others, that "video-clips have been made for various musicians and using a language understandable to the public, allowing a citizen to approach this art" Minister of Culture said.
"Since the Ministry want to take art to the street and we decided to take the city by distributing a series of videos over urban space.
This means that if the city wants to see the video displays will have to scan each of the posters because each one emits two or three videos, "said Cruz.
The poster with the videos are located on the plaza of the University of Santiago Steps street, Calle Cartagena (Centro Parraga), Plaza de la Cruz Roja, Plano San Francisco and the Auditorio Victor Villegas in Murcia.
The six video incorporates a 22-inch television and a DVD player that will work from morning to night.
In addition, a sound activated device for 10 minutes (from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm) by pressing the button located next to the monitor.
This first 'Video Open' will remain until August, the date from which other proposals continue to make the programming.
