Professors from three universities, including that of Murcia, participated in the preparation of the Guide to Expression of the baby, with which it comes to analyzing the response of the human being in certain situations since birth.
This guide, sponsored by the Institute of Nuk Baby, collected the first scientific study on prosodic gestural communication and children that is based on the analysis of a sample of fifty young aged between four and thirteen months.
Professor, Faculty of Psychology at the University of Murcia Francisco Martínez Sánchez, one of the participants in this study, noted that we have studied the response of these infants to certain stimuli, "analyzing facial and vocal expression, to find a specific pattern that distinguishes the major emotions. "
By analyzing facial expression and voice of babies to mourn, researchers have found a specific pattern of crying that distinguishes three main emotions associated with this action, which are fear, anger and pain.
The study, which involved also the University of Valencia and the Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia (UNED), aims also to make intelligent use of emotions from the baby stage and enhance positive emotions.
