University students in the Murcia region are saving an average of 40 euros per month in the cost of bus fare due to UNIBON a specific pricing system for the university community which is an average rebate of 300 percent compared with the price of regular ticket.
The managing director of the Public Transport Authority (EFA) in the Region of Murcia, Jose Guillen, said that currently, "users, among which also includes teaching and administrative staff of the university community, are making half 41-monthly trips to the travel card that allows unlimited travel on any bus line, both urban and interurban the municipality of Murcia, for only 20 euros a month. "
"In this way, a person who moves between Murcia and Universidad Catolica San Antonio de Murcia which makes 41 trips a month, get a discount of 39.45 euros in UNIBON, representing a discount of 297 per cent, since the total cost of regular tickets for these trips would be at 59.45 euros, "said managing director of the EFA.
With respect to students at the University of Murcia, José Guillén said that "for a user Algezares moving to the Campus de Espinardo, performing a transfer between lines 5 (Algezares-Murcia) and 39 (Murcia-Campus) savings would amount to 33.45 per month, representing a discount of 267 percent. "
Also, in the case of a person who moves from the city of Murcia to the Campus de Espinardo and performs an average of 41 trips per month, the monthly discount amounts to 27.15 euros, representing a 236 percent reduction with respect to the ordinary fare.
More than 4,500 daily trips
