The Bancaja Young Entrepreneurs and the Vice President for Research at the University of Murcia organized the "First Day Technological Entrepreneurship, Technology-Based Firms," which was held in the auditorium of the Faculty of Informatics.
Day addressed the technology-based companies, which are small businesses based on scientific knowledge and R & D and operating in sectors such as Information Technology and Communications, biotechnology or renewable energy.
Three companies of the Region of Murcia (neotechnic, Cronobiotech and AMI2) and Malaga (ProBio aquaculture) presented the main challenges facing such initiatives, which are primarily bureaucratic and funding.
In the afternoon session, heads of the University of Murcia talked about the experience of this institution calls off spin, which are technology-based companies that have been generated at the university with the participation of research groups.
The opening ceremony was chaired by the Vice Chancellor for Research, Juan María Vázquez, who stressed the importance of college in times of economic crisis, given the chance he has of "transferring knowledge to businesses and to transform that knowledge into value."
