PSOE: "We are pleased that the PP has reconsidered and corrected its error and launch a special drive against gender violence" (05/05/2009)

The Socialist councilor Alfonso Navarro points out that the Socialist Group presented this initiative is framed within a comprehensive plan to combat domestic violence in the plenary last October, a proposal rejected in its entirety by the municipal government

Ensure an effective response to emergency situations related to gender violence, as well as proper handling of complaints, legal and sociological support, and the organization of protective devices that are needed were some of the objectives of the Plan comprehensive family assistance against gender violence at the municipal level that the Socialist councilors Alfonso Navarro and Maria Dolores Abellon proposed in the last full month of October.

Months after

Seven months after this motion, rejected in its entirety by the municipal government, the PP has decided to launch one of the initiatives proposed by the PSOE: the creation of a special police unit home against gender violence.

"We are pleased that the PP has finally reconsidered, corrected his mistake and bet for launching this special unit dedicated to the care and support to victims of abuse," concludes Navarro.
