These are some of the qualities that characterize the calm of Murcia, a service that today celebrates its second year of implementation in the municipality, which currently has 62 staff and an area for action in five areas (El Carmen, central region of Murcia, El Palmar, Los Garres and Sucina).

Since May 1, 2007 (date on which the service began acting) the watchmen have made a total of 383,246 actions, of which 266,922 were direct (those that exceed the mere task of patrolling).

The monthly average of actions (from 1 May 2007 to April 30, 2009) is 15,968 performances, the daily average is 532 and is 5.56 per citizen.

The typology of the main direct interventions are:

Notices impairment and street furniture (36%).

Information and guidance to residents and passers (18%).

Checking open and close the portals (16%).

Accompaniments or help neighbors (11%).

Notices to close blinds / off lights in shops (115).

It is a service charge to cover the needs arising from the night both residents and traders.

This is to ensure the welfare of all and work with citizens and the protection or emergency services.

The basic function that meets the watchman is to offer help to anyone who needs information, support or assistance and ensure the care of the business premises.

It has thus become a figure close, close, and that works closely with police, firefighters, merchants, health care services and neighbors.
