A total of 64 children belonging to centers supervised by the Ministry of Social Policy, Women and Immigration, and 68 seniors from various senior centers, were the stars today for the First Day of Solidarity and Cooperation Between Generations where they have been accompanied by a group of volunteers.
The day was organized by the Ministry to celebrate the European Day of Solidarity and Cooperation Between Generations.
The counselor said Joaquín Bascuñana commented that "the elders have been teaching younger secrets of traditional games from Murcia, in addition to bond between generations and social ties that are very important for children and for older" .
The garden of La Seda de Murcia has been the scenario that took place this festive day chaired by reading stories and participating in games such as plates, jacks, pitch, camber, riddles, carioca, hopscotch, blind hen, marbles or spinning tops.
Participants were divided into several groups, each consisting of four seniors and 10 children.
The day concluded with the awarding of diplomas to the participants by the counselor and a snack for everyone.
Bascuñana expressed his great satisfaction at the good reception given to this initiative, both by the higher as the smallest and educators, and praised the work of volunteers "who have helped make this day a success ".
