25 countries involved in 54 activities, including music, dance, theater, exhibitions, conferences, film and literature, and are free except for the two concerts for Tolerance
The Director General for Cultural Promotion, Antonio Martinez, along with the mayor of Murcia, Miguel Ángel Cámara, and the Councillor of Culture of the Municipality of Murcia, Fátima Barnuevo, today introduced the X edition of the Festival 'Murcia Three Cultures', to be held Murcia from 13 to 23 May and with the participation of artists and groups from five continents.
The shows are held outdoors, in public spaces in their heritage and tradition are deeply tied to the history of the city and the essence of the festival, as Belluga Plaza, the University Senate, the Wall Veronicas, the low Plaza de Toros, Murcia Pergola Park and San Basilio, among others.
Martinez said "the festival is based on culture, entertainment and culture is a factor of social cohesion and a major factor of development."
The festival was created with the aim of establishing a meeting point for civilizations through art.
The music, dance and theater, along with exhibitions, lectures and film, "create a rich programming that aims to strengthen ties between cultures."
Actions
This tenth edition will be opened by Los Vivancos and her new show, "7 Brothers", which combine flamenco, modern dance, hip-hop, gymnastics, martial arts and live music.
During the following days, and under the theme 'Music and Dance' voices serve Israel, Mongolia, Tunisia, China, Vietnam, Iraq, Spain and France.
The Feast of the Three Cultures, which takes place the last weekend with a marathon 24 hours and 21 concerts, will feature performances by groups from Madagascar, Morocco, Spain, Cuba, Brazil, Jamaica, Portugal, Croatia, Serbia, India and New Zealand.
The theater season will host two works, 'So Happy Together' and 'Mystery of Christ of the Gascones' and the festival was complete with screenings of several short Israeli, Arab and Western, various courses and a series of symposia and exhibitions.
Will offer two concerts for Tolerance, in Canto del Loco, in the Plaza de Toros, and Fugue in Murcia Park.
On Saturday, May 23, will be closing the festival with performances in the Plaza de Belluga of Dulsori, an eastern group, arrived from Korea, which dominates the landscape of world music and rhythms and percussion.
The activities are all free and free entry, first-served basis, except for the two concerts for Tolerance, whose entries will be available from Tick Tack Ticket, Servicaixa, Musik and Traffic Records.
