This is the second largest center opened in the hamlet of Monteagudo and 77 in the entire municipality

The Mayor, Miguel Ángel Cámara, who this morning presided over the inauguration of the new building, said the importance of "open more and better facilities where seniors find suitable facilities in which to conduct its business, enjoy a space of coexistence and essentially participatory. "
The Mayor was joined at the opening by the Social Welfare Deputy Mayor, Maria del Carmen Pelegrin, president of the Municipal Board of Monteagudo, Marco Antonio Fernandez and the president of the Association of Major de La Cueva, Carmelo López.
The new building is operational now occupies 450 square meters and replaces the previous one, which was badly damaged and had been small due to the increased membership in recent years.
The investment by the City Council in the construction and equipment amounted to 472,000 euros.
The center, located on Calle San José, La Cueva, has two floors.
In the bottom is located the general classroom, canteen, kitchen, office, warehouse, storeroom and toilets, while the upper floor has enabled other general classroom and multipurpose room consultations, hair and toilets.
In this way, the partners have a larger place where you can practice a full program of activities that the Department of Social Welfare organized to improve the quality of life of its members.
In the center held all kinds of activities: sports, leisure, relaxation and health improvement, plus it will be an ideal place for neighbors and friends living together.
Specifically, the members of La Cueva participating in this year gerontogimnasia courses of string music, lectures, sports competitions and cultural trips.
The La Cueva has a population of about 600 inhabitants, of whom 184 are members of the senior center.
Monteagudo has other similar facility, which also serves Las Lumbreras.
