The regional government has authorized trails grants to the University of Murcia (UMU) for a total of 5.5 million euros to finance infrastructure, equipment and other university investments, in order to provide sufficient funding to this educational institution.
Of the total, four million will cover costs of investment in infrastructure, equipment and other facilities of the campus of the Health Sciences in the hamlet of El Palmar Murcia, in particular, for investments related to projected operations Building Biomedical Research Laboratories (Laib), and the building department of Campus Health Sciences, as provided in the Financing Agreement 2007-2011 of the Public Universities of the Region.
The remaining $ 1.5 million will be used to finance capital expenditure in infrastructure, equipment and other related investments at financial balance plan set out in that financing agreement.
This agreement, signed in December 2006, provides funding for infrastructure Campus Health Sciences, University of Murcia, which will have a total investment of 17.6 million euros.
The Community of Murcia considers universities as a factor in the modernization and transformation of the Murcia Region in the Knowledge Society.
To this end, make a financial effort that public universities have sufficient resources for effective enforcement of the public higher education through research, teaching and study, and their purpose to serve society.
