This has been expressed this morning by the Mayor of Murcia and President of the Federation of Municipalities of the Region of Murcia, in the meeting of the Business Promotion Committee for the Retail sector held in the Ministry of University and Research Company.
Chamber was convinced that "the sum of wills will make the traditional trade Murcia, which supports thousands of jobs and which underpins the real economic strength of the cities, stay and face the serious crisis" .
In his opinion, at present there are two lines of action in favor of trade: the new financial support and help lines, at the municipal level, "further support the activity with improved accessibility, the impulse to urbanism trade, reform of urban spaces, the creation of parks, streamlining administrative procedures and promoting the activity of the city, which thus is able to attract people from the environment. "
In this regard, the Chamber recalled the activities promoted during the recent holidays and other preparations for the spring, especially at festivals and competitions in the field of culture and tourism, "which have much impact because the more number of visitors with the cities, more businesses can obtain benefit. "
The retail trade is very involved in the municipalities.
95% of the national trade is retail, generates 10% of regional GDP and comprises more than 16,000 companies.
The purpose of the meeting this morning is to work between the Regional and Local Government for this sector to best whatever the crisis and even emerge stronger from it and this requires that trade specialize and innovate, "for what counts with the help of regional government and municipalities.
Loa workshop brought together representatives of financial institutions, trade associations, chambers of commerce and municipalities.
The meeting served, among other things, to remember the support available to the sector and strengthen partnerships to increase funding and working capital of retail.
