A large group of students from the Diploma in Physiotherapy of the UCAM has set out today the findings of their research in the XII National Congress of Physical Therapy under the slogan, 'Physiotherapy in Paediatrics', held these days in the Temple of Los Jeronimos.
From the Symposium Organizing Committee emphasized that "this activity, aimed at professionals in the field of Health Sciences, will examine the different therapeutic approaches applied to the field of pediatrics in order to improve training in this important medical specialty."
The students discussed important issues in their work as the placebo effect of acupuncture, the pathologies of the wrist joint and hand in children and adolescents, caused by improper use of new technologies, the effects of hygiene postural re-education pupils or pelvic floor during pregnancy, among others.
From the School of Physiotherapy at the Catholic University has weighed positively the conclusion of the meeting dedicated to Physical Therapy in Pediatrics, a specialty focused attention to the pathologies of childhood disorder involving a function and motor development child.
Those responsible for the School of Physiotherapy at the UCAM have also stressed during the presentation of the symposium, the importance of promoting research in this area and integrate it in clinical work.
The morning session will include the presentation of oral communications other than by physical therapy professionals from different areas of Spain and interventions will also host national and international leading experts in the field of Physical Therapy and Neurology, as the dean of the College of Physiotherapists of the CARM, Francisco Ruiz Salmeron, president of the Spanish Association of Physiotherapists, Antonia Gomez, the head of Neurology at Hospital La Fe de Valencia and director of the Instituto Valenciano de Neuro (INVANEP), Fernando Mulas, who will give the conference keynote address entitled 'Basis neuropathological and early treatment in infantile paralysis. "
