This morning we have begun work on the third lane Ronda Sur.
The winning company, UTE Etos, Sánchez Lago, San Patricio Forum will have an implementation period of approximately four months to implement these actions.
With the marking of the lanes have launched actions that start from the Carretera de Santa Catalina and will be completed, as planned, next September.
The works, which will increase road capacity by 30%, will begin shortly.
Following the works, Ronda Sur will be able to absorb 40,000 vehicles per day, 10,000 more than at present.
The Department of Infrastructure and Community Services, directed by José Arce, carried out the extension of this approach in order to improve circulation and safety in the area.
The Session devoted to this project 1.4 million euros.
The third lane is from the A-30 (Madrid-Cartagena) to the Avenida de Los Dolores, so that there is continuity for the three traffic lanes from Avenida Murcia (Beniaján road) and the present Highway A -30, and its connection with the new road to Dolores.
During the development works will not be necessary to cut the traffic because at least one lane will remain open to traffic.
The third lane will have a length of 7,860 meters (sum of the two lanes).
The third track features are:
Two exterior sidewalks of 1.80 m each
Three lanes in each direction of movement of 3.40 m each
Two internal sidewalks of 0.50 m each
A central median with a width of 4 meters
Elimination of architectural barriers in all affected sidewalks along the path Ronda Sur.
Also placed the barrier rail to prevent or at least mitigate, the serious injuries suffered by many drivers of motorcycles and mopeds.
