Note from PSOE:
Councilman José Manuel Abellán socialist states that this new discovery, together with the reports issued by the Directorate General of Fine Arts and Cultural Heritage shows that there is enough material to transform San Esteban in a large open air archaeological park
The new archaeological discovery this morning in San Esteban show that in the basement of this area there is an important historical heritage.
In particular and, according to data provided by professors and archaeologists UMU, the archaeological remains found hold more than 2 / 3 of the site of St. Stephen, an area unique and special palace dating from the thirteenth to fifteenth centuries, similar to the lower castle Las Claras and the Court of the Myrtles in the Alhambra.
These new archaeological finds, denouncing the mayor of the PSOE José Manuel Abellán, demonstrate the barbarity of the House plans, determined to build a car park in the area.
To Abellán, this new discovery, together with the reports issued by the Directorate General of Fine Arts and Cultural Heritage, confirms that there is enough material to transform San Esteban in a large open air archaeological park, an initiative proposed last PSOE week.
Hopefully the new findings discovered today, "says the socialist mayor is sufficient for Mayor House enters reasons.
"We still have time to save this space for the future and progress of Murcia because what is clear-highlights-is that there are other sites for parking, but not other places where you can lift a large archaeological theme park.
"Murcia would be more competitive and attractive from the standpoint of culture and tourism, if you build a theme park in the center instead of a parking lot," insists Abellán.
