Students at the University of Murcia to volunteer FADE Foundation (Support, Development and Education), under the agreement that was signed today between the two entities.
Students may participate in the "Secunda", dedicated to care for elderly or infirm, and in the "Youth & Young Worlds", which aims to support children at risk of exclusion.
The University of Murcia, through the Social Service and Volunteerism projection, will conduct a campaign to attract students and raise awareness of the need for voluntary participation.
The agreement was signed at the Convalescence FADE by President Patricio Leal, and the rector, José Antonio Cobacho.
On the other hand, the university formalized collaboration with the Association of Dyslexics of Murcia (ADIXMUR) with the signing of an agreement.
Under this agreement, the University and ADIXMUR cooperate in research, advice and training about the various aspects of developmental dyslexia, a disorder of "common but unnoticed" in the words of the promoter of the agreement Professor Francisco Román Lapuente.
The president of ADIXMUR, Fuensanta Martínez, mentioned the importance of the University to raise public awareness about a disorder that affects about 10% of children.
