IU + Greens in the city of Murcia has filed a motion in Parliament tomorrow by seeking to exclude the presence of authorities of the Government of Israel in the festival 'Murcia Tres Culturas', which this year is dedicated to this country.
Councillor for the coalition in the consistory of the capital, Esther Herguedas, said he did not object to this dedication because "it must separate the Israeli Government responsible for the killing of Gaza, the Israeli people and their artists."
However, he stressed that the festival is not dedicated to any state since its inception, except for the years 2006 and 2009, which paid tribute to Israel.
"The fact that 2009 has started with the slaughter of Israel on Gaza is not exactly a sign of coexistence and tolerance through dialogue, as the team proclaims on the agenda of this event," said Herguedas.
Also recalled in his motion that the Israeli state has been convicted of a crime against humanity and genocide to children and the murder of 1340 Palestinians, of whom 460 were children and 106 women.
"Remember also that Israel continues to show his fierceness and intolerance on thousands of Palestinians with actions like the recent expulsion of hundreds of Palestinians from East Jerusalem or systematic humiliation to the people", he added.
Herguedas also requested in his motion that the council include the actions of Israeli artists at the festival, "for the sake of cultural dialogue."
