The Hall Annex building to the City of Murcia has welcomed this morning the draw to select the six NGOs that form the new Council for Development Cooperation for 2009.
The draw is held annually as stated in the statutes, in order to obtain the cooperation of all organizations in actions to direct and indirect cooperation by the City of Murcia.
The NGOs that form part of the Development Cooperation Council are:
Teachers Mundi
Solidarity for Peace Karit
Community Development Institute
SYAD
Solidarity and Development Education
Humanism and Democracy Foundation
The choice of the six NGOs that form part of the Council throughout this year has been attended by representatives from a total of 16 NGOs.
Moreover, it should be noted that the Council is composed of a chairman (Councillor for Development Cooperation, Remigio Lopez), a councilman from each political group represented in the city of Murcia, five members appointed by the Board of Governors, two persons of recognized standing, from the two universities (UMU and UCAM).
