Councilor José Ballesta said "this will be the year of transportation to Murcia
The Minister of Public Works and Planning, José Ballesta, today, accompanied by the President of the National Federation of Bus Transportation Business (Fenebús), Alfonso Caravaca de Coca, the "National Week XX Coach and Bus'.
The event will be held in Murcia for the first time next November with the presence of more than 30 national and international speakers and 500 professionals in the road passenger transport in Spain.
José Ballesta said "these days are the most traditional biennial event of the passenger transport sector in our country, an activity that employs a total of 87,000 people" and added that his objective is "to improve and promote public transport through analysis of business management and quality of services. "
The conference, to be held from 10 to 13 November, will take place in six sessions that will discuss the present and the future of the sector.
The event will come CEOs of transport of various regions and the Ministry of Development, politicians related to transportation committees of the Congress of Deputies and the Parliament, and delegates from local associations of Fenebús.
The advisor will chair the first working session, which will reflect on the promotion of public transport use through the establishment of quality plans, platforms and legislative reforms reserved.
In this sense, José Ballesta recalled the need for policies to encourage public transport "as a more economical means enabling lower power consumption than the private car, resulting in environmental benefits and reducing traffic in cities ".
Sustainable transport and deployment of new technologies to enhance information services to citizens of the topics will be other players in the 'XX Week Coach and Bus', as the rules of carriage of passengers during the Spanish presidency European Union in 2010.
A complete schedule of events
The 'XX Week Coach and Bus' is a reference event for entrepreneurs in the sector of public transport which started in Vigo in 1970 and has traveled to Seville, Torremolinos, Zaragoza, Portugal, Palma de Mallorca and Sitges, among others.
During this year will be a panel dedicated to international business opportunities for Spanish business in the international market as they will be representatives from India, China and several Latin American countries.
The President of the Autonomous Community, Ramón Luis Valcárcel, who today received the representatives of Fenebús, will inaugurate the conference.
For his part, Secretary of State for Transport, Fernando Palao, will close the event with the reading of the conclusions of the conference, and deliver the Medals of Merit Passenger Transport sector employers in recognition of his career.
Is also scheduled an exhibition with the oldest bus in the region, the "Bus" Grandfather "(Dodge, 1932) and newer models with next-generation systems to gas, electric and hybrid.
