The University Theatre Festival this year celebrates its thirteenth edition true to an appointment that year after year, and since 1997, brings to the University of Murcia to the most prominent groups of Spanish and foreign universities.
This time there are nine groups participating in this event to be held simultaneously, from 6 to 13 March in the room of the College Isidoro Máiquez Azarbe and CAES Torre Pacheco.
The Theatre Group at the University of Granada will be responsible for opening the festival in Murcia with the play "The First Communion", by Fernando Arrabal, directed by Rafael Ruiz Alvarez, while the Theatre of the University of Murcia will do so in Torre Pacheco in the play "Night of War in the Prado Museum," by Rafael Alberti, a staging of Cesar Oliva with the direction of Manolo Ortín.
For one week, the theater is well represented in the university, where university theater groups intervene from the universities of Murcia, Granada, Carlos III of Madrid, La Coruña, Alicante and Liège (Belgium).
Also participating in the shows the College of Dramatic Arts in Murcia and two companies from Latin America: Argentina Team Plain Theatre Santa Fe and Mexico The hypertrophic turbinates, the National Theatre School of Mexico.
The Festival will be represented works by Fernando Arrabal, Rafael Alberti, Jean Paul Sartre and Maurice Khartoum among others.
The event is organized by the Theatre of the Cultural Service, Vice President for University Extension, University of Murcia.
