The University of Murcia, in the person of the rector of International Relations and Communication, Maria Angeles Esteban, participated in the First Meeting of Rectors of Russian and Latin American Universities, held at Casa de America in Madrid to coincide with the visit of Russian President Dmitry Medvedev.

This meeting of representatives of universities had the conference exhibition and a panel discussion on enhancing the teaching of Russian and Spanish universities.

Also held another roundtable discussion and debate on academic cooperation between Latin America and Russia.

These activities attended by King Juan Carlos and the Minister for Science and Innovation, Cristina Garmendia, together with the Russian president and other senior officials of this country.

The meeting attended, along with the rector Stephen, the head of the Department of International Relations at the University of Murcia, Matthias Balibrea.
