Participating municipalities and organizations in America and Europe in order to make information more accessible to blind and deaf
The Mayor of Murcia, Miguel Ángel Cámara, accompanied by the councilman of Youth, María Dolores Sánchez, this morning the seminar Good Practices in Youth Information as a strategy for inclusion of young people with temporary disabilities.
The seminar, which runs through Saturday, includes the participation of 8 European countries and America.
The Mayor explained that this seminar is part of the project financed by the European Union Information and Active Citizenship: a strategy for inclusion of people with fewer opportunities.
According to House, the fundamental idea is that the actions of public bodies, especially those whose main target is youth information, can be an excellent means of access for all young people with sensory disabilities to information for young people in conditions of freedom effective and socially just.
This is a conference in which it is intended to give the keys to eliminating barriers to information and youth with disabilities, especially hearing and vision, can seamlessly access youth information services.
The conference will be attended by members of the Youth Council of the City of Murcia, Informajoven Center, Federation of Deaf People in the Region of Murcia (FESORMU) Murcia ONCE, ONCE Foundation for Latin America (FOAL) and the Youth Council Spain.
In addition, Hispanic young people, heads of organizations of persons with disabilities and Youth Information Centres in Argentina, Colombia, Ecuador, France, Italy, Mexico and Portugal.
To develop this seminar has been proposed eminently active and participative methodology, with exhibitions of experiences that give prominence to each of the participants and induce a state of shared learning through direct instruction, discussion and teamwork.
Systematically apply self-assessment and evaluation throughout the process.
Applying this line of learning through discussion and debate will be complemented by interventions in brief papers related to the topic.
The groups will have to present good practices and the work that has been developed jointly between Local Authority and Organization and all local activities and initiatives that were born from this collaboration.
They will together with a group from another country, to compare experiences and exchange opinions.
These exhibitions were held during the seminar and are the result of preparatory work before the event started and it will serve as a collection of experiences, expectations and concrete analysis of the situation and opinions of the technicians who work with young people with sensory disabilities.
