Professor, University of Murcia José Miguel Martínez Carrión has been appointed secretary general of the Spanish Association of Economic History 2009-2011.
Professor Martínez Carrión, Faculty of Economics and Business, received the support of this organization that brings together some 450 members representing the group of Spanish economic historians, but there are partners in other countries.
One of the first proposals made by the new secretary general has been to create the Vicens Vives award for Best Book of Economic History of Spain and Latin published in Spanish, which will be held annually.
