The Minister of Social Policy, Women and Migration, Joaquín Bascuñana, said today that his Department is fully committed to the draft of interpreters of sign language, through which two young people with hearing disabilities can pursue their studies at the University of Murcia (UMU).
Bascuñana met with both students, Francisco José López Cascales, and Sonia, along with the rector of the University of Murcia, José Antonio Cobacho, and territorial president of Caja Mediterráneo, Angel Martinez, and during the meeting the Minister thanked both the educational institution as financial institution to its contribution to the project.
On 11 December materialize the cooperation agreement whereby the Department provides 20,000 euros, the UMU contributing 5,000 euros, and the CAM with another 5,000 euros.
The director congratulated the two young university students for their effort and dedication, and pledged that the agreement be continued in order to be able to complete their careers.
He also said that the completion of this initiative will pave the way for other students who also require such support. "
Cobacho welcomed the work being done to facilitate the training of 523 university students with disabilities who currently attend the University of Murcia, a figure that according to the rector, "located at the University of Murcia at the head of Spain."
He also had words of praise for the families and associations that support them.
The owner of Social Policy, the general manager of Family and Children, Laura Muñoz, and the Vice Chancellor for Business and Infrastructure, Antonio Calvo-Flores, also visited the Centre for Child Care (CAVI) to care for children of teachers and other campus staff.
