The Minister of Social Policy, Women and Immigration, today visited Joaquin Bascuñana the area outside the residence Psychogeriatric Senior 'Virgen del Valle', recently adapted, accompanied by the Senior General Manager, Paloma Recio.
Of the 45,000 euros of the total cost of the adaptation of this space, the Ministry has invested 43,300 euros.
The center, opened on February 4, 2008, cost 7,524,949 euros, including equipment.
There is capacity for 100 seats, of which 99 are currently occupied by 53 men and 46 women, mean age of 74.5 years.
They are attended by 97 staff workers, including administrative staff, nurses, social workers and doctors and 33 non-staff, including physiotherapists, psychologists, workshop instructors, personal hairdresser, laundry, cleaning, cooking and monitoring.
The building has four floors, which are distributed all its dependencies, such as living rooms, dining rooms, nursing and single and double rooms.
It also has a large patio and landscaped garden areas and outside garden, which allow for outdoor activities.
Adaptation of the outer zone has led to the creation of a horticultural garden and garage, an external circuit of physiotherapy, a bowling alley and a tent Murcia occupational activities.
In this area, precisely, the Minister planted a tree on the first anniversary of the residence.
The scheme of this center is closed, in order to ensure the safety of residents, all older people with chronic mental illness.
