Sotoca, who was accompanied by the Director of Academic Planning, Aurora Fernandez and the director of the Escuela Oficial de Idiomas de Murcia, Bethlehem Mayor, thanked the teachers and the work center responsible for developing and noted that these facilities represent an increase supply in the city of Murcia, 586 new positions for teaching languages.
The region currently has a network of 16 centers, six are official language schools (Caravaca de la Cruz, Cartagena, Lorca, Molina de Segura, Murcia and San Javier) and ten are extensions (Eagles, Sewer, Alhama de Murcia, Cieza , Mazarrón, Mula, Murcia 2 in area Infante, Totana, Torre Pacheco and Yecla).
Students who must read these teachings is primarily adult, with a mean age of 24 years, and this school year serves more than 14,000 students spread throughout the region, although the highest concentration corresponds to Murcia and Cartagena , which has a large number of university students.
The training offer currently covers the six languages most in demand, German, Arabic, Spanish for foreigners, French, English and Italian, complemented by a more flexible offering, according to perceived demand, interest in other languages (Chinese, Japanese, Portuguese , Russian, Romanian or Moroccan Arabic) and specialized applications (English for Banking, English for the field of health, among others).
Schools and official extensions of languages taught these lessons with a curriculum according to the guidelines issued by the Council of Europe in this field.
In addition to teaching, these centers are the only ones who can issue official certificates of competence in foreign languages, surrounded by a network since its inception in 1910, has been present throughout the state.
