The installation of seven new traffic control cameras in the city, adding to the 35 already exist that will streamline the vehicular traffic in the town.
This is an initiative that has launched the Department of Safety and Traffic, Nuria Fuentes.
The cameras are in place now and will be installed within approximately two months, run through optical fiber and its use is exclusively for traffic control.
With its installation is covered throughout the village, while new developments are being included as standard practice to promote circulation.
One of the most important developments is that the council, in addition to installing these cameras that have traditional technology, is introducing an experimental new technologies to such control systems, placing new cameras in areas where access is permitted through optic fiber powered by GPRS and Internet technology to transmit and receive images and data.
The new television cameras aimed at the regulation and traffic control will be located at:
° Deadline González Conde: This is an important point of exit and entry to the city with constant traffic all day.
From this square you can see the traffic on several streets, Princess, Marquis de Corvera, Floridablanca, Alameda de Colón.
° Deadline Calle Ceballos-Post: One of the busiest streets of the city.
The camera checks the compliance of the loading and unloading schedules, and expedite the movement.
· Calle San Anton, next to Garden of the Silk: San Anton is one of the entrances to the bus station and the Place de La Opinión, so the traffic is continuous.
° Deadline Díez de Revenga: At this point where three of the main thoroughfares of the city: Ronda Norte, Primo de Rivera, Avenida de la Libertad and is one of the most intense traffic because access to the center and the presence El Corte Ingles.
· Intersection Ronda de Garay with Bishop Fruits: The approach of the Reina Sofia Hospital, University, Plaza de Toros, the football field and market Condomina of Fame to be held on Thursday makes this area a point heavy traffic.
· Juan de Borbon Abenarabi intersection: Traffic on the motorway towards Murcia, Albacete, shopping malls and stadium New Condomina installation is necessary.
· City of Almeria on the roundabout down the highway (compared to Inacua) traffic merges several important points of entrance and exit to West Ring Road, access to the road Murcia Sewer and departure city of Almeria and Murcia.
With the installation of cameras, at a height of 15 meters, 360-degree view and zoom built, aims to have a complete view of traffic, in order to give notice of emergency to expedite traffic.
There are currently a total of 21 traffic surveillance cameras, and another 10 that control the tunnel and four pedestrian access restricted traffic through pivots in the center of the city.
With this expansion, Murcia is in line with cities that serve as reference in terms of traffic control, because the fact of having the images is a tool for measuring and improving its intensity, so you can adjust time of traffic lights based on the needs of the street.
In terms of investment in these new cameras, added 181,000 euros.
