The University of Murcia has proceeded to the establishment of the International Chair in Victimology "Antonio Beristain Ipiña" which will be working on aspects of the victims, especially as regards the recognition of the rights of these and the appropriate channels for its exercise.
In the ceremony held in the convalescence, the director of the Chair, Professor Pedro Ángel Rubio said that is going to be teaching through workshops, seminars, lectures and conferences and on the other hand, research activity also.
The dogmatic element, teaching and research is to bring a practical aspect, Rubio said, so that there is a transfer of knowledge to government, to the Administration of Justice and Security Forces.
The rector of the University, José Antonio Cobacho, welcomed an initiative that will work for the upliftment of the victims of crimes and also bears the name of Antonio Beristain Ipiña respected criminal.
The Lecture Series is sponsored by the Foundation of Victimology in the Region of Murcia.
